Creatures of the Night

On our final day, we introduce you to the last set of mythical creatures that you probably wouldn't have minded skipping! They are the ones that lurk in the shadows and darkness of night. From well-known nocturnal monsters like vampires and werewolves to the newer Mothman creature, be prepared to be amazed—and even a little frightened. These night-loving creatures have the potential to add some spooky elements to your world. Just remember that they aren't real—right?

According to legend (and maybe Hollywood), vampires are able to transform into stealthy black bats at will. Today let's make your bat — out of paper.

Pro tip: You'll need a square sheet of paper. Here's how to make one.

03

Complete Your Land of Legends

It's the moment you've been waiting for all week. It's time to put together your mythical world like Hogwarts or the Shire! Grab your poster board, any left-over craft materials, and some markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Look back over some of your favorite videos and Create activities from this week, draw your land, and add in your mythical creatures any way you like! We'll revisit this later on in today's Move section!

Pro tip: No poster board? No problem. Just tape together four sheets of paper to make one large rectangle.

Bigfoot must be in pretty good shape, since he's always on the run. Can you keep up?

01

Bring Your Legends to Life

How is your world of legend poster board shaping up? Once you've got your setting and your creatures in place, use this time to try acting out or telling the story of your world and the creatures in it. (Maybe you can even use some skills from Movie-Making Magic week to capture it on film!) There is no limit to what you can do when you are the master of a brand new universe.

Share it! Ask a parent to take a photo or video of your world of legend and share it with us on Instagram or via email.
